Admission Cost:
Disney World prices are higher than most amusement parks, but it is worth the price for being able to go to the happiest place on earth. Disney World consists of four different parks. For one person, a single day ticket to Magic Kingdom, which is the more popular of the four, it costs 99 dollars. The three other parks cost 94 dollars. The best deal offered is a one person ticket for five days. This only costs 366 dollars and allows you to jump back and forth between all parks. Now for an average family of five, a five day hopper ticket would cost about 1,895 dollars. These prices are what you pay at the gate. There are also many other ways to find cheap tickets through various websites. Additionally, parking is not free, but is only a small portion of the total price for Disney Land. Rides:
Disney World has rides for all ages. Rockin Roller Coaster is a favorite for adults. It goes from 0 to 60 mph in three seconds. For example, to entertain kids there are rides such as a Peter Pan ride that takes them through the story of Peter Pan on flying boats. One of the cool aspects of Disney rides is their goal behind them. Their mission is to help everyone live their Disney childhood fantasies. Most of the rides have themes behind them. For example the theme of the Splash Mountain ride tells the story of the Br'er Rabbit from from the movie "Song of the South." Here are a few of the many rides that are on the "best rides" list: Star Tours which is a motion simulator ride that is based on the famous star wars films. Space Mountain which is an indoor outer space-themed steel roller coaster. Dumbo, an aerial carousel-style ride which is based on the Disney movie Dumbo. Pirates of Caribbean, which tells the story of the movies. Soarin which takes eighty-seven riders on a simulated hang glider tour of California lasting four minutes and fifty-one seconds. Locations:
*Walt Disney World- Orlando, Florida Disneyland and California Adventure- Anaheim, California Disneyland Paris- Paris France Disneyland Hong Kong- Lantau Island, Hong Kong Disney Resort- Chiba Prefecture, Tokyo, Japan Disney Resort- Pudong New District, Shanghai (*=The park we researched and wrote about) Lines:
The lines at Disney World can get very long especially with the more popular rides. You could be waiting in one line for over an hour. There are off seasons at Disney World where the lines are a lot shorter. Due to these long lines, Disney created the fastpass system in 1999. It is essentially a timed ticket that allows you to spend your time elsewhere instead of waiting in line, and then return to the ride at the time stated on you fastpass. This is the easiest way to bypass the long lines. When you do actually have to stand in lines, a cool thing about Disney World is that most of the lines have interactive characters in them which help the time go by. Miscellaneous:
One of the greatest aspects of Disney World is all of the Disney characters walking around the park. Kids are able to meet their favorite characters. For most kids the fun of going to the park is being able to get as many signatures from as many characters as they can. A lot of times Disney designates places and times when the popular characters will be out. Parades are a good time to see a lot of the characters together as well. They usually have parades twice a day at each of the four parks. Disney has many different shows throughout the day. For example, some of the most popular shows are Beauty and the Beast, Indiana Jones, Lights, Motor, Action (a car stunt show which also includes the characters from Cars), Fantasmic, (a show with the character cast showing that good always overcomes evil), and a Wishes Nighttime which is a spectacular firework show at the Cinderella castle featuring beloved characters and music of Disney. There are a lot of things to do at Disney World. Your will definitely have a fun and adventurous time. |
